Grey has visited many isolated coastal areas and a few island spots, and plans to visit many more. The psychology of islanders intrigues her; the trade-offs made for the solitude of island living are varied and great. I'm so fortunate to have my friend Jane. She is always ready to help around the gallery, and she invited me to accompany her to visit her family in the Virgin Islands. What an incredible time; what an incredibly beautiful place. Sort of like the high desert and the California coast, but better than either. I want to go back! Note: Not all of this series is from the Virgin Islands. Kauai Dreams resulted from a commissioned work. And I expect the series to grow (there are a lot of islands!) |
