Some passing thoughts about Vertu Arts, G.E. Grey (me!), and my web sites ....
First, why two sites? The best answer is that while this site is blatantly commercial, my other site, gegrey.com, is about me, my art, how I feel about it, and what my background is, why I make art. My prime intent there is not to be commercial, but rather to introduce myself to you without getting tangled up with shopping carts and all of that stuff. It's a good place for me to introduce new work, recent awards, upcoming shows and the like. I hope you will go there often.
I've been asked a time or two "why the dark green surround?" I guess the short answer is nostalgia. The color is close to, although somewhat lighter than, a popular New England tint known as "Essex Green", and I like it because it reminds me of my garage doors when I lived in Salisbury. It is also evocative of my first gallery in Newburyport.
