The Vertu Fine Art Gallery lives again, and once more will have many fine artists within its walls. The historic walls of the Juan José Baca House, at 113 Abeyta West in Socorro, will now resonate with colors galore; while shopping here you can imagine the sound of Elfego Baca's boots as they once echoed off the old adobe walls. As an aside, people sometimes ask "why the dark green surround on the web site?" The short answer is nostalgia. The color is close to, although somewhat lighter than, a popular New England tint known as "Essex Green"; it is evocative of the original Vertu Fine Art Gallery in Newburyport.
